15 years ago, as a young sales guy entering the photocopier and technology space, I walked in the door at a Ricoh dealership not knowing anything about photocopiers. Instead of being taught about the hardware, technology or clients, I was first taught all about finance – rentals, leases and how to craft managed cost per page agreements.
Years before companies were using words like ‘IT as a service’ the photocopier industry had already developed and deployed ‘as a service’ subscription style products to great effect, and from that I learnt a great deal about the value of commercial finance, particularly, how to apply it to the purpose and use of a piece of technology.
As my career progressed, I was exposed to many different business types working with SME, government, not for profit, etc. on a local & national scale, for dealerships and manufacturers. I have been the director of my own print and technology dealership operating a sales and service division, turning around the business by a significant percentage before becoming part of another rapidly growing state-wide technology dealership.
With an acute awareness of finance as a powerful enabler allowing businesses to access the latest technology without having to part with hard earned capital, ‘As a service’ models, MPS agreements, technology upgrade pathways, and so much more; my background allows me to be a well-equipped and integral partner of Finlease IT vendors supporting their business growth, sales strategy and long term financial goals.
Speaking of goals and being Victorian, I must admit to my love of the Richmond football club despite being born and bred in Geelong – it’s hard go back once you’ve gone yellow & black! I have a busy household of 3 boys (whom I’ve also brainwashed to my family’s displeasure), and so to even the gender balance in the house with my wife and not wanting to buy a minivan by ‘trying one more time’, we eventually settled on a female German Shepherd. Focused on my family, passionate about nutrition, enjoying exercise, keeping myself physically, mentally and spiritually sane goes a long way to me performing at my peak so I can best support your business, today tomorrow and in to the future.
